Central AC was on tonight when wife heard a weird noise. Of course it was pitch-dark & raining. Condenser-fan was not running & there was an awful buzz sound. I pulled the outdoor fuse & ran inside to set the A/C to “off”. Back outside, removed top of unit & found a (dead) mouse with it’s claws on a giant capacitor (maybe?) near the top of the unit. Removed mouse, replaced fuse & turned AC on. NO fan-movement…just awful sounds again…this will sound stupid, but I pulled the fuse quickly because the noise it made sounded like something getting ready to go! Like if a belt was about to snap or a motor blow on a vacuum cleaner that was jammed (best I can describe it). Fortunately my neighbor has his own business repairing food machines in convenience stores & delis. He knows how to fix walk-in freezers, coffee-makers, etc but I should do some of legwork myself if possible. Worried parts are gonna be $$$! Parts listed are: fan motor: HC39GE227A (also says skcp39eg on sticker), compressor under the fan (or is that the condenser?) CR32K6-PVF-130, sticker on outside unit says NAC036AKC3. HELP!
