So some time ago we did a interview with the Editors Keys CEO (Mark Brown), and he gave us a real insight into his business and the products his company produces. Now we are happy to say that we were lucky enough to be sent some of the Products they produce and the first we were sent was there SL 300 usb condenser microphone which retails as only £99!.
I make music and I must say this microphone blows away almost every single one of its competitors in this price range. First and foremost the build quality has to be commended with a full metal shell and matt silver finish this is definitely a very attractive microphone especially when plugged in and the mic lights up blue which is a really good feature and adds that extra bit of added value. The mic itself seems very sturdy and feels as if it could with stand a few drops(even though I don’t recommend it).
The sound quality on the mic is outstanding for this price range. The sound is clear and crisp, however the vocals are not as warm as you find on more expensive condenser microphones but that is to be expected. The sound quality is definitely studio quality but would probably be better suited to a home studio.
All in all this when considering the price this is a amazing bit of kit that any one from professional to beginner will find find essential.
