Condenser washing rig helps green power generation | MEPCA

A condenser washing rig designed and manufactured by Hughes Pumps for the cleaning of a steam turbine air cooled condenser system at an Energy Recovery Facility in South East London has increased the efficiency of the steam turbines, allowing more green electricity to be produced by the plant. The plant’s air-cooled steam condenser radiators can become blocked with airborne dust and debris, losing their condensing effect and reducing power output. The washing rig produced by Hughes Pumps allows semiautomatic radiator cleaning, which can be regulated to provide optimum cleaning and increase the efficiency of the air cooled condenser radiators. Hughes Pumps has more than 40 years experience in the design and manufacture of its market-leading range of highpressure water jetting equipment. Its products are used all over the world, in the harshest of environments in industries including; petro-chemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, offshore and contracting. www.hughes-netclean.co.uk
